Main aim of this project is to describe the most interesting historical sources with regard to the relations between Russia and the Netherlands. These sources can be found in Russian archives and libraries and are enormously important for the study of the relations between the two countries.

The main Russian archives are: the Federal Archive Service of Russia / [de Federale Archiefdienst van Rusland] (Rosarchives), attached to the Russian State Historical Archive / [het Russisch Staats-Historisch Archief] (RGIA), the Russian Naval / Marine State Archive [het Russisch Staatsarchief van de Marine] (RGAVMF), the Russian State Archive of historical / old / ancient / deeds [het Russisch Staatsarchief van Oude Akten] (RGADA), the Russian State Archive of Social and Political Historry / [het Russisch Staatsarchief van Sociale en Politieke Geschiedenis] (RSASPI), which keeps the document of the Komintern and the KPSS / [waar de documenten van het Komintern en de KPSS bewaard worden],  the Russian State Archive of Recent History / [het Russisch Staatsarchief Nieuwste Geschiedenis] (RGANI), the State Archive of the Russian Federation / [het Staatsarchief van de Russische Federatie]  (GARF), two military State Archives RGVIA and RGVA [de twee Militaire Staatsarchieven] (RGVIA en RGVA)] and the Russian State Archive on Literature and the Arts / [en het Russisch Staatsarchief van Literatuur en Kunst] (RGALI).

The project is being promoted in both Russia and the Netherlands. The Dutch -Russian Archive Centre, established in 2000 and attached to Groningen State University in the Netherlands is responsible for the general management of the project.

-Preparing the Russian Navy for Victories, letters from Peter I to admiral Cornelis Cruys (RGAVMF), in association with the Russian Naval State Archive (available in Russian and English).

- Of science and scientists, the Boerhaave Archive at the Military-Medical Academy, in association with the Military-Medical Academy (available in Russian and English).

-Bibliography of Dutch Literature in Russian Translation, by Werner Scheltjens (in Russian, with a preface and indexes in Russian and Dutch)

-Bibliography of the Netherlands and of Dutch-Russian relationships (1700-2000), by E. Waegemans and H. van Koningsbrugge (eds.) (in Russian).

-Orange and Romanov. Letters from members of theDutch Royal Family to their Russian relatives, by Vincent Hovinga and Hans van Koningsbrugge (in English)

-From our man on the spot. Dutch Russian relations as described in the newspaper ' Sankt-Peterburgskiye Vodomosti' (St-Petersburg Times) (1728-1775), by Werner Scheltjens and Hans van Koningsbrugge in co-operation with the Library of the Russian Academy of Science (in Dutch)
