Dutch Jazz Connection is proud to present an overview of the rich and abundant jazz and improvised music scene in the Netherlands to the people of St Petersburg. In the course of two weeks top jazz musicians from Holland will perform the best jazz music there is. Dutch Jazz Connection (DJC) aims to increase international acclaim of and concert possibilities for Dutch jazz musicians. Every two years DJC organises the Dutch Jazz Meeting for which fifty foreign programmers are invited to present a showcase of Dutch jazz and improvised music. The programme of Days of Dutch Culture will show established names, among which are some foreign talents who settled in Holland. Performers include: the Mike del Ferro Trio, the Ig Henneman String Quartet, the Eric Vloeimans Trio, Guus Janssen and David Kweksilber, Michiel Borstlap in collaboration with singer Trijntje Oosterhuis, electronics performer Huib Emmer, the Ensemble Dalgoo with a programme around the texts of Daniil Charms, the Yuri Honing Trio, the renowned Willem Breuker Kollektief and pianist / componer Misha Mengelberg. The programme will offer opportunities for meetings and improvisations with members of the local jazz scene in St Petersburg.
