Dno, or the ‘Bottom of the Heart’

Dno, Russian for bottom, deals with the ideas of certainties and support: the ground beneath our feet. The duet Dno explores relationships in which people have known each other for a while and where there is a basis of trust. In a labyrint of blue straps of leather the search for the other person is visualised. Dno is danced by Diane Elshout and Frank Händeler on music by Lucid Terror. Diane Elshout and Frank Händeler create intriguing dance theatre. In the seven years of their collaboration they have won several awards. In their work, which can be seen in venues in Holland and abroad, they mix surreal settings with technical virtuosity. Their work is always made with the personalities of the dancers and performers in mind.

Choreography and dance: Diane Elshout and Frank Händeler / Musical composition: Lucid Terror / Stage design: Bartel Meyburg / Costumes: Henrike Bromber and Ton Elshout / Lighting design: Lucy Carter / Technical design: Ingeborg Slaats
