Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble
(MCME) Dutch premières for St. Petersburg Leading Russian contemporary music
ensemble MCME, with Yuri Kasparov as Artistic Director, has invited the four
prominent Dutch composers Theo Loevendie, Roderik de Man, Astrid Kruisselbrink
and Florian Mayer to write new works for the occasion of the 300-year
anniversary of St. Petersburg. Works by Yuri Kasparov, Elena Langer and Calliope
Tsoupaki will also be performed. In the last three years the MCME has performed
about 40 concerts with music of many different Dutch composers all over Russia.
They have also recently recorded a CD with music by Roderik de Man. The concert
will take place in the main hall of the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory.
