Orkater

On 30 September and 1 October 2003 Orkater will perform The Prefab Four at the Baltic House in St. Petersburg. In 1966, four average singing actors shot to instant fame as The Monkees, a fake pop group that was invented by smart producers. Their hits were written and recorded by others. They captured millions of teenage hearts with their television show, which was a mix of comedy and cheerful beat music. The Prefab Four, written by Gijs Scholten van Aschat, deals with the search for eternal fame of the teenage idols Pete, Mike, Micky and Dave more than thirty years after their success. They wish to become what they never were. In preparation of their comeback, their past is brought alive: their music, the competition among each other, their mutual success and their failures. Even the present turns out to be just an illusion. The music in The Prefab Four is by the Monkees, but the characters and the storyline are fictitious.

The performance will be in Dutch with Russian super titles. The songs will be in English.
